The Pug, the Guitar, and the Pandemic: Navigating Life in COVID Times
Hey folks,
When the world retreated behind closed doors due to COVID-19, we all found different ways to cope. For me, it was a time of introspection, a time to learn, and more importantly, a time of unexpected joy. Let me explain.
The joy had a name, and it was Gizmo. As the pandemic raged outside, my family and I welcomed this bundle of pug energy into our home. Gizmo was more than just a puppy. She was a ray of light in the gloom, an antidote to the monotony of lockdown life. Her daily antics kept us entertained, and her obsession with bananas - specifically the one my dad would get her every day from 7-11 - never ceased to amuse us. Today, she's my dad's best friend, his furry sidekick on those daily 7-11 trips.
With the outside world reduced to grocery runs and walks with Gizmo, I found solace in the virtual universe of Call of Duty. The adrenaline rush of the game, the camaraderie with fellow players, and the simple pleasure of connecting with others in a time of isolation, provided a welcome respite. It was more than a game; it was a lifeline to the world.
But I didn't just want to escape the reality; I wanted to create something too. As the world slowed down, I picked up my long-neglected guitar. The initial rusty chords soon gave way to a melodious escape, offering a sense of achievement amidst the stagnant air of the pandemic.
The confines of the pandemic also led me to explore acting, but this time in a different arena - the digital world. I enrolled in online acting classes, turning my living room into an impromptu stage. The classes were more than just a way to kill time; they were a gateway to creativity, an outlet to express and learn.
As the world outside gradually began to heal, an idea started to take shape in my mind. I wanted to fuse my passion for creativity with my career. I had spent enough time behind the construction blueprints; it was time to build dreams, to tell stories, to create. And so, I decided to chart a new course - one that would let me express, inspire, and entertain.
COVID-19 might have brought the world to a standstill, but it also brought me closer to my passions and gave me a new perspective on life. So here's to Gizmo, my guitar, and a future filled with creative adventures. Here's to finding silver linings even in the darkest clouds.
Stay tuned for more stories from my journey. Until next time, take care!
